Rugeley Chess Club was formed on the 5th December 1968 and is still going strong today. It's aim is to promote the interest in chess to all people, regardless of gender, age or ability. The members play chess socially for fun and also participate in local leagues playing chess at a competitive level.

Rugeley chess club meets every week on Tuesdays at the Lea Hall Social Club usually starting about 7:30 pm.
