The police houses in St Micheals Drive were built in 1956 The shops were completed in 1958 The council houses were progressively completed, along with those in Leasowe Road & St Micheals Road, over three years from 1953. Builders Sabin & Young were instructed to omit a bedroom fireplace, cupboard and concrete flower box on some later houses to contain Ministry allowable costs.
