Leasowe is the old name of the fields on which the road was built. The council houses were progressively completed, along with those in St Micheals Drive & St Micheals Road, over three years from 1953. Builders Sabin & Young were instructed to omit a bedroom fireplace, cupboard and concrete flower box on some later houses to contain Ministry allowable costs.
