Named after Mr Frank Gee, when the council thought he should be remembered in some way as although he was never chairman of the council he had presented the Chairmans Chain Of Office. In 1971, the residents of Green Lane were in protest as they opposed the renaming of numbers 38 to 62 Green Lane to Frank Gee Close . These houses remained as Green Lane due to the residents opposals.
