Brindley Bank Pumping Station was built in Tudor style in 1905 at the request of Sir Charles Wolseley, Baronet and was possibly designed by himself to be in keeping with the Wolseley Hall.

Coal from the boilers came by canal to a small wharf below the station.

The Pumping Station houses a 92 foot long Horizontal Steam Engine by Hawthorn Davy of Leeds, presented as a static museum piece. The former boiler house is now the Museum of South Staffordshire Water Company which may be viewed by appointment or on occasional Open Days.

Electric pumps are still used when the station is needed to provide 'stand-by' supplies.
