Aelfgar HouseAelfgar House was developed as a partnership between the District Council & Touchstone Housing Association as a 26 flat scheme to provide accommodation and support to 16 to 30 year olds.

Managed by the YMCA, life training skills, such as budgeting, cooking and dealing with household paperwork are provided for those looking after there own affairs for the first time, and twelve of the flats are specifically designed for those requiring additional support.

Opened in December 1996, Aelfgar House has scooped the National Housing & Town Planning Council Partnership Award for the region. It encourages independent living for young adults whilst providing extra support and advice for those requiring it.
